Painting of the Month Sale

I enjoy featuring one painting per month where I treat those who subscribe to my newsletter with a 35% discount on the art. When it’s a large painting, that is a huge discount!  If you haven’t subscribed yet, please sign up for my newsletter so you can be the first to know about these sales events.

This month’s painting is entitled, “Leiper’s Creek in June,” and it is 30″ h  x 40″ w, oil on cradled panel. I painted this plein air on an easel by the creek but finished it in my studio.

Behind-the-Scenes…”Leipers Fork in June.”

It’s rare that an artist gets to share the inspiration behind their work, the artistic process followed, and the techniques that make it one-of-a-kind.

In this video, I take you back in time to the warm June day when I painted “Leipers Fork in June.” I also discuss the challenges of painting a scene that is primarily one color and how I used photography to identify the tonal values of the greenery in my scene so I could achieve compelling contrast in this painting.
