5-Day workshop at the lovely GRAND MARAIS ART COLONY
Join me Saturday, June 20th for a short demonstration at Harbor Park in Grand Marais followed by a workshop, June 22–26, 2026 at Grand Marais Art Colony, where wilderness and creativity meet on the shores of Lake Superior.
During this immersive 5-day workshop, we’ll paint the dramatic North Shore landscape — the historic lighthouse, boats, expansive skies, reflective water, and the iconic rocky coast surrounding Grand Marais.
This workshop blends experimental approaches with strong foundational painting principles. Using alternative tools, expressive mark-making, and layered techniques, we’ll loosen our work and explore new ways of seeing the landscape while still focusing on essential lessons in composition, value, color, atmosphere, and design. Expect a balance of plein air painting, studio work, demonstrations, playfulness, and thoughtful instruction designed to strengthen both your creativity and technical skills.
Whether you’re hoping toloosen your style, reconnect with your creativity, or deepen your understanding of landscape painting, this workshop offers an inspiring place to experiment, learn, and grow with me helping you along the way.
