Donating Art to the Harpeth Conservancy

McCampbell Art Studio in Centerville, TN is opening our doors to the Harpeth Conservancy for an outreach event this weekend, Saturday, June 22, 4:30-6:30.

I am donating the sale of my painting, Bridging Time: Decades on the Duck, 13″ h x 20″ w, Oil on panel, in support of the Harpeth Conservancy’s campaign to  prioritize the health and wellbeing of the waterways in this region, which the Harpeth Conservancy has dubbed the “Decade of the Duck”!

Come enjoy Hickman County’s Ag and Arts Tour and then stop by to meet folks who have been working up and down the Duck River to conserve their special places along the Duck River, Lick Creek, the Piney River, the Buffalo River and more.

The Duck River is one of the most biodiverse rivers in the world, and it is a river that flows entirely within Tennessee! While we think of the Duck as the pearl of Tennessee’s globally significant waterways, we know the Duck is also facing challenges. Recognizing that, in 2024, the Duck River was named one of the ten Most Endangered Rivers by American Rivers in its annual national report. This designation highlights the threats to the Duck from excessive water withdrawals as intensive growth continues to expand in Middle TN, one of the fastest growth regions in the nation.

Come gather to visit with folks and hear about the efforts of Harpeth Conservancy and our partners, as well as those of community members and their representatives, to ensure the Duck and its many special tributaries are championed as part of the region’s future.

You are welcome to bring a friend, and share this invitation.
