My Work in Museum Show: “Breaking Through: The Rise of American Women Artists”

The American Women Artists Organization selected my painting “Contemplating the Day,” oil on wood panel, 40″ x 40,” for their museum show at Customs House Museum in Clarksville, TN March 5 – May 29, 2022. The opening reception is March 12, 2022 at 5 pm.

I am so honored to be a part of this juried exhibition. If you can get by there to see the show, it will be awesome. I’ve already seen the work that is in it, and it’s extraordinary! These women are VERY talented and the work comes from all over America. To get a peek at the artwork, go here.

This will be the sixth museum show in AWA’s 25 in 25 Campaign. The show offers an array of awards, such as a $10,000 Grand Prize and over $20,000 in merchandise awards and magazine ads. Breaking Through will feature 150 representational and abstract works, including paintings, drawings, and sculptures.

Since its inception, American Women Artists has worked diligently to bring women artists to the attention of the art world through museum shows, juried competitions in leading galleries around the country, symposiums, workshops, and international travel and exhibitions. Our goal is to increase the number of professional opportunities for women in the visual fine arts that lead to greater inclusion.

Thank you Terri Jordan, curator, and all who are involved with the fabulous Customs House Museum.
