I’m really excited about going to Ireland to lead a painting trip in County Mayo.

The esteemed Ballinglen Arts Foundation  is hosting my 9-night workshop in Ballycastle, Ireland on the gorgeous coast of northwest Ireland.

In this workshop, we will be painting plein-air and in the studio. We will be focusing on the idea of finding shapes, textures and lines in the landscape. Abstracting what we see will be the greatest challenge. Using a limited palette, we will study the colors of Ireland, and with the addition of Cold Wax Medium, we will explore contemporary ways of representing what we discover in the gorgeous views of Ireland.

Ballinglen itself has an amazing museum that we will get to explore along with a freestanding workshop with views of the ocean. Everyone will have their own private room in a cottage not far from the center. And meals will be shared family style in the cozy center. This  will be a trip for a lifetime! Cost $2,700 plus some other expenses. (Airfare, art supplies and other transportation not included).
