My Painting Juried into “Best of America” Show, Alexandria, VA

Long Train Runnin’, 14 x 18″ Oil on panel, by Rachael McCampbell ©2023
I’m so pleased to announce that my painting, “Long Train Runnin'” was juried into the 33rd “Best of America” International Juried Exhibition, the National Oil & Acrylic Painters’ Society (NOAPS) which will be held at The Principle Gallery in Alexandria, VA, August 11, 2023. I am honored to be a part of this amazing exhibit of art by wonderful artists!
The show is August 11 – September
I painted this piece, en plein air, in Knoxville, TN next to the Tennessee River looking at an old train bridge. I loved the lines and shapes of the trestle. It was challenging to paint this architecturally yet keep it loose and “light.” I didn’t want to get too realistic or tight. I just wanted to capture the impression of the afternoon light and the fleeting warmth that was on the bridge at that time in April.
The artwork will be up for a month if you can get over to see it. This panting is 14″ h x 18″ w, oil on cradled panel.
